This 25-day Advent devotional was created from CornerstoneSF's video devotional series, Rise & Shine. With videos every day except Sundays, this devotional invites us to open our hearts and prepare for the coming of Jesus. It will begin broadly and then focus deeply on Mary’s experience, highlighting how her humility, faith, and openness paved the way for Christ’s birth. Through her example, we are encouraged to cultivate a heart ready to receive the Savior, embracing His love and presence in our lives.

Over the first 25 days of December, we will cover the genealogy of Christ, the characters of Christmas, the prophecies Jesus fulfilled, who Jesus is, and the Christmas story.

This 25 day Christmas reading plan is designed to provide a daily Bible reading for each day of December leading up to Christmas Day. We will see the significance of Bethlehem, reflect on Mary in Elizabeth’s home, meditate on the manger, and hear Jesus' invitation for us to come home to Him.

Advent Study going through: Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love.

As we head into the season of Advent, it’s easy to be swept away with all the plans of Christmas, family times, food, and gifts. It's also full of emotions, pain, and loss for many of us. Advent is a season of waiting. Trusting in a good God who holds our times and seasons. Advent. Wait. Hope.

A treasure principal of faith lies within this 30 day devotional, "The Heartbeat of God." Each day begins with a declaration of praise using these words, "O God, You are...". Then, an unfolding of His character and attributes begins (for example: "O God, You are Good"). These scripture-filled devotional prayers guide the reader into a practice of lifting up God's Name, which results in a deeper understanding of His intentional "heartbeat" of love for His people.

When it comes to the names of God it is important to recognize that we do not name God. He names himself. This is important because it shows that there is something specific he wants to reveal about himself in his names. He transcends time and space. He is exalted above all things and is incomprehensible. And yet he has condescended to make himself known to us in ways that we can understand. He has given himself names to help us see his character.
