The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity is a yearly reminder of Jesus’ prayer for his disciples that “they may be one so that the world may believe” (see John 17.21). The theme in 2017, "Reconciliation – the love of Christ compels us," is inspired by verses from the Second Letter to the Corinthians, chapter 5. This reading plan gives you valuable advice to stand firm in such a situation. This advice is based on a true biblical story from the book of Mark.

As Christians, we believe that God is almighty and good and that He hates evil. However, we see bad things going on all around us! This raises the question why God permits evil to happen. Why does He not intervene? This reading plan searches for answers in Bible stories about people who wrestled with these very same questions.
