Read, Ask, Go! Interactive Advent Devotional for the Whole FamilyBeispiel

Mightier Than I
READ: Mark 1:1-8
The gospel of Mark begins with John the Baptist proclaiming the coming of the Lord! As we read yesterday, and today, John came to prepare the way for the Messiah by baptizing people in the Jordan River and preaching forgiveness of sins. So many people were following John because of his life and teaching, but he was always quick to remind them that there was another coming who was mightier than him. John’s purpose from the beginning was to make ready the hearts of the people! His actions and life always pointed others to Jesus. That’s what we want our lives to be about, too. Jesus is mightier than anything in the world, and we want to live our lives like we believe that, just like John!
ASK:
John never wavered in His purpose. John's whole life was about pointing people to the one who was mightier than him. How is your life pointing people to Jesus?
GO:
KIND IS COOL
Small acts of kindness are a way for your life to point others toward Jesus! Today, take your neighbor’s trash up for them, fold some laundry for mom, pick up some trash in your neighborhood, get creative! Kindness makes everyone smile.

As we anticipate the birth and celebration of Jesus Christ, let’s help our families slow down and take time to really think about our Savior’s coming. This devotional experience is meant to do just that! Give you and your family dedicated time each day to READ (the scripture), ASK (some questions) and GO (serve our family, neighbors, and world).
