Every Line

At the beginning of a songwriting session, Carl Cartee told us a story about his Grandmother who had recently passed away after a long, painful battle with cancer. He asked her how she was able to still cling to Jesus even in the midst of suffering. “Where would I be without Him?” she replied.

What began to crystallize for us in that session was that the only option we have in times of confusion or suffering is surrender. When we surrender to the story that God is writing in us, we yield to His love, His plan, and His glory. Our surrender leads to hope, courage, and a greater trust in the One who will never leave or forsake us.

Walking “by faith and not by sight,” is how we face uncertainty with courage. No matter what you’re facing today, Jesus wants you to know that He is not uncertain about anything in your life. He is the Author of your story. He is in control. And for your good and for His Glory, He will finish what He has started in you.
