No Matter What Comes Through Those Doors

### Think About It The disciples had lots of questions about what Jesus was telling them. The news that He would be taken away from them and then returned to them was too overwhelming, confusing, and painful for them to process. As the disciples’ questions, fear, and sorrow overtook them, Jesus was gracious and gentle in His response. He told them to remember a woman in labor. Just like a new mom, they were going to experience unimaginable pain, but it will be followed by unprecedented joy. He gave them a beacon of hope to cling to as their world was fading into darkness. Jesus knows you would have seasons with more questions than answers. He knows there would be moments when you will be desperately grasping for some meaning to all of your sufferings. In your confusion, chaos, uncertainty, and sorrow, God is still faithful. He might not offer you the answers you’re seeking, but He’ll remind You that His plans are perfect. Though it might feel like a heartache now, remember that the present pain is temporary, but His gift of lasting joy endures forever. ### Live It Out * Are you in a season of questions? Lay them out before God without fear or reservation. Ask Him to offer His peace in your sorrow. * What are you looking forward to? Is the journey that leads there painful? What might God be teaching you through this process? * Is there anyone you know who is in a season of pain and waiting that you can encourage? How can you share the hope of this passage with them today?
