No Further
“Take you as you are.”
Similar to how you don’t clean yourself before getting in the shower, you don’t have to make yourself perfect before you come to God.
God is fully aware of all your scars, pain, and baggage. Despite anything that makes you feel unworthy, He wants you to come as you are. He accepts you for who you are and wants to have a relationship with you. The door is open, you just have to step into it.
Romans 10:13 says, “everyone who calls on the Lord will be saved.” That word ‘everyone’ can include you if you take the step to call on His name. Walking with God looks like being in a relationship with Him. A relationship works by communicating, and with God, prayer is our communication. You don’t have to over complicate it. Express to Him where you are and that you’d like Him in your life, and He’ll gladly join you.
In my song, “No Further”, you can hear me chant “Ese Eledumare!” in Yoruba which translates to “thank you God!” What a beautiful thing that we have a God who loves us for who we are and sent His son to die so we could be reconciled to Him.
