Save the DateBeispiel

One of the best parts about growing up is how much more freedom you have. Maybe you can stay out later, not check in as much, or go where you want to go without being dropped off by a parent. But freedom can be tricky. With all the talk of what’s possible, it can be difficult to remember that with freedom comes responsibility. In other words, just because we can do something doesn’t mean we should.
A true sign of maturity and growth is when we can make decisions with more than just freedom in mind. When we start to make decisions not just based in what we can do, but what is the best thing for us. Instead of thinking about what you’re free to do, ask yourself this: “I know I can do this, but is it best?” When we learn to ask this question, we have a better chance of using the freedom God has given us in a way that keeps us free.
This week, talk with your leader, a trusted friend, or a wise adult in your life. Give them the freedom to speak into your life about areas that may be mastering you.
