Grace is Weakness
2 Corinthians 12:9, 10
“…‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness’…That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses…For when I am weak, then I am strong.”
Weakness can be a gift from God when it causes us to humble ourselves and rely on God’s grace and strength. God’s grace operates where humility is present. To say that God’s grace is sufficient, we must also say that our strength, gifts, resources, wisdom and strategies are insufficient. The transforming power of God is available to those who throw themselves at the feet of Christ and acknowledge their weakness and need. We can’t be strong in ourselves and find our strength in the Lord at the same time. Paul had come to the place where he delighted in weaknesses - challenges that humbled and broke him, because then he knew the freedom and joy of God’s limitless grace and strength. That is the secret of the exchanged life.
Lord Jesus, you are my strength. I humble myself before you this day and invite your grace and mercy to carry me, for your glory.
