Perceiving and Understanding
Job 33:14
“For God does speak – now one way, now another – though men may not perceive it.”
1Cor. 2:12
“We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us.”
God’s personal revelation was formerly available to a few prophets and priests. However, with the gift of the Holy Spirit, communication with the Father became personal for every follower of Jesus. God’s revelation through creation, through Scripture and through the person of Jesus Christ, has been freely given to us. However, we need the Spirit of God to understand and apply that revelation to our lives. God desires relationship and intimacy with us through his Spirit. Relationship and intimacy are only possible through communication that is two way and ongoing.
Father God, thank you for sending your Spirit and giving ongoing revelation and understanding of who you are and what your will is for my life. May I perceive your communication to me today.
