(Not) Seeing and Believing

DAG 3 AF 10

### Seeing God’s hand in creation God’s creation is beautiful. Blossoming trees, colorful birds, and rippling creeks are a feast for the eyes. But there is more to it. Creation points us towards the Creator who called all this into being. He spoke and it came to be. He is so powerful and so creative! Psalm 8 mentions another aspect of creation that shows us how great God is: the heavens with their impressive number of stars. Both the earth and the heavens are “the work of His fingers”. He even knows the stars by name (Psalm 147:4). Somebody who can create and maintain all this must be great and impressive Himself! Sin has affected the world. This limits the amount of knowledge about God that we can deduce from creation. But even this limited knowledge is sufficient to hold people accountable if they ignore God and pursue their own sinful life goals: “For His invisible attributes, namely, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse” (Romans 1:20). When you look at God’s creation, what do you see?
