Když se vznesu na křídlech jitřenky a usadím se za koncem moře, i tam mě bude provázet tvá ruka, tvá pravice se mě chopí. I kdybych řekl: Jistě mě přikryje tma, i noc se kvůli mně stane světlem. Ani tma před tebou není temná, noc ti svítí jako den, temnota jako světlo. Vždyť tys utvořil mé ledví, utkal jsi mě v lůně mé matky. Vzdávám ti chválu za to, jak jsem úžasně stvořen -- vzbuzuje to bázeň. Tvé dílo je obdivuhodné -- má duše to velmi dobře ví. Před tebou nebyla skryta má kostra, když jsem byl utvářen vskrytu, utkán v útrobách země. Tvé oči viděly můj zárodek a do tvé knihy se zapisovaly všechny dny -- utvářely se, nebyl ani jeden z nich.
