Usilujme tedy především o to, co slouží všem k pokoji a ke vzájemnému duchovnímu prospěchu. Nepoškozujme Boží dílo kvůli podružnostem a vyhýbejme se všemu, co by mohlo oslabit víru bratra. Je lepší odepřít si, co vadí mému bratru, než někoho zranit. Své přesvědčení však nezrazujme; Bůh o něm ví. Budeme šťastni a bez výčitek, když uposlechneme hlas svého svědomí. Neřídit se jím a zapřít své přesvědčení je hřích.
