How to Shine: The Three Goals of a Lightgliderنموونە

Welcome back to “How to Shine: The Three Goals of a Lightglider!” This is Day 4 of this Bible reading plan. Today we are discussing RESTORE. This is the third goal of a Lightglider. The land of Glideon is being contaminated by a dark mysterious substance that we call blight. But, you, Lightglider, have a light resource called RES that enables you to restore the land from the blight. To restore something means to bring it back to the way it was meant to be. When Lightgliders clear the blight, they are bringing Glideon back to its intended beauty and purpose. And, when we work to restore, we are pointing to a far greater restoration that will happen one day in the future.
The Scriptures tell us that God will fully restore this broken world. This means that God will restore the heavens, the earth, and all that is in it to what it was meant to be. This is a day that we all can look forward to with hope. Can you imagine a world where sin, suffering, and death are no more? It will be fantastic! Until that day, Lightgliders seek to restore the beauty, purpose, joy, and dignity of the world around us and everyone in it. In doing so, we serve as signposts of what is to come. When we carry out deeds of compassion, beauty, and justice, we give the world a glimpse of an incredible future. This type of work is always worthwhile.
Here are some things to do and think about today:
- Read 1 Corinthians 15:58, 2 Corinthians 5:17-20, and Micah 6:8
- What is true about everything you do for the Lord?
- What does it mean to restore something?
- What are some things in your world that are broken and are in need of restoration?
- What can you do through your words or actions to help?
