Our God cannot and is not given to change. He is not one thing today and another tomorrow. Hebrews 13:8 says, “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and for ever.” God is not subject to fluctuating feelings as we are. Malachi 3:6 says, “For I am the Lord, I change not; therefore, ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.”

Because our God is constant and consistent, we can trust Him with every aspect of our lives. James 1:17 tells us that “every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.”

In a world of shaky circumstances and changing alliances, we can rest assured that God’s character never changes. He loved us infinitely yesterday, and He will love us no less tomorrow, no matter what.
