How much does Christ love the church?
Ephesians 5:25 says, “...Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it”. Acts 20:28 reminds us that He purchased the church “with his own blood.” The most significant proof of love is sacrifice, and Jesus gave everything for His church.
Think about it. Jesus did not willingly sacrifice his life for nothing. He died for people. The church is precious to Him because it is made up of those He redeemed. He bought our salvation at a heavy price.
This truth reminds us that the church is not just a building where believers gather. It is God’s house. If Christ gave His life for it, then it must matter deeply to us as well.
So, we must value the church as He does. We honor His sacrifice by loving, serving, and protecting His church. If it was worth His blood, it should be worth our devotion.
