Who leads the church?
The Bible states in Colossians 1:18 that Jesus is the head of the church.
Think about what the head does for the body. It includes the eyes and the brain. This provides us with sight, direction, and purpose. The head ensures that the rest of your body works together. In the same way, Christ directs and unites His church.
No pastor, Sunday School teacher, or group leader can replace Jesus. The church belongs to Him, and He is in charge.
Our commandment is to follow Christ above all. We should listen to His Word, obey His commands, and seek His will. When we understand His status, the church stays healthy and strong.
