Finding the Wordsنموونە

Dear Father in Heaven,
We come before You today surrounded by many things that cause our hearts concern. Big things loom - like wars and natural disasters - yet still many more personal things weigh upon us (even if they are not in the evening newscast.) Things like personal financial challenges, relational challenges, and health challenges, not to mention regret, remorse, and shame that we deal with over falling short of Your glorious standard, are heavy on our minds. Dear Lord, these things (and many more) drive us into our anxious hearts or tempt us to be tied down by the chains of depression. Sometimes we cry aloud - “WHAT ARE WE TO DO?”
Dear Lord, on this day, we remember that we can turn to You in the midst of our concerns. We do not need to weather these storms alone, but we can take shelter in the shadow of Your wings. You created this world and sit sovereign over it, yet You also care for us. In the big and small concerns of this life, You invite us to cast all our anxieties upon You, and You will comfort us. Sometimes You quiet the storm, but more often, You calm our hearts. All the time, You give us strength for today.
So we come to You, our great God, and cast our concerns upon You. Your burden is easy, and Your yoke is light. May we walk with You moment by moment this week.
In Jesus' compassionate name we pray, AMEN

Ask many Christians about their prayer life, and they will admit their struggle to find the words to pray. For thousands of years, liturgies have helped believers articulate words in their communication with God. This collection of 30 prayers (and the Scripture behind them) is designed to improve our prayer lives as we allow God's Word to populate our words in prayer.
