Finding the Wordsنموونە

Dear Lord Jesus,
In a symphony of creativity, You spoke all things into existence, and then, on the seventh day, You rested.
Dear Lord Jesus, at the crescendo of Your earthly ministry, You offered Your life on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins, then You said, “It is finished.”
The rest You modeled, and the rest You achieved - You invite us to “enter into.” What an offer! In a world that is maddening and broken, and amidst a culture that tells us we always have to do more, You tell us we can rest in You!
And yet, dear Lord, so many of us have entered this day NOT resting in You, but running in worry, doubt, insecurity, fear, and self-reliant labor. We confess that in many ways we try to control things we cannot control, instead of resting in You.
So Lord, we hear Your call to “come to You all who are weary and heavy laden and You will provide rest for our souls. For Your burden is easy and Your yoke is light.” Lord, may we collectively tie together with You today, and experience the rest of knowing You are carrying the heavy load, and guiding us in the path to true life.
We pray these things in the name of You, the Lord of the Sabbath, AMEN
