Paul wrote these bold words to the believers in Rome, a city filled with power, politics, and persecution. Declaring allegiance to Jesus in Rome was dangerous—Christians faced ridicule, rejection, and even death. Yet Paul stood firm, saying he was not ashamed of the gospel because he knew its transforming power firsthand. The gospel had rescued him, a former persecutor of Christians, and turned him into one of the greatest evangelists of all time.

This verse reminds us that sharing our faith isn’t about having a perfect presentation—it’s about carrying a message that has the power to change lives. The gospel is not just good advice; it’s good news that brings salvation, hope, and freedom to anyone who believes.

For a long time, I overcomplicated evangelism. I worried I didn’t know enough Scripture or wouldn’t have the “right words.” But over the years, I’ve learned that one of the most powerful ways to share Jesus is to simply tell your story. The world doesn’t need polished speeches; it needs authentic encounters with God’s love.

I remember sitting with a young woman who felt completely unloved and unseen. I didn’t have a sermon prepared—I just shared how Jesus transformed my life, healed my heart, and gave me purpose. By the end of our conversation, tears streamed down her face as she asked to know more about Him. That moment reminded me that God doesn’t need eloquence; He needs availability.

You don’t have to be a pastor or preacher to share the gospel. The same Spirit that empowered Paul in Rome lives in you. Your testimony is living proof of God’s power. Open your mouth and trust that He will speak through you—because when the gospel is shared, lives change.
