Rooted: 30 Days to Strengthen Your Faith Through Struggleنموونە

WEEK 4: Bearing Fruit in Every Season
Focus: Living as a rooted child of God—steady, fruitful, and resilient in every season.
Day 27: You’re Not Who You Were
"But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal..." Philippians 3:13–14
The past has a loud voice. It loves to remind you of who you were - what you did, what you didn’t do, and all the ways you failed.
But Paul reminds us that forward momentum in faith means choosing not to live backward.
“Forget” here doesn’t mean you erase your memory. It means you no longer let the past define you. You no longer live from that place of shame, pain, and wounding.
You are not who you were before Christ. You are not your worst day. You are not bound to repeat generational patterns, trauma responses, or old ways of thinking.
You have been made new - and God is continuing that work in you here on earth until we are with Him in glory.
But this kind of pressing forward takes intention. You won’t accidentally become more like Jesus. You won’t casually stumble into growth. It requires grit, grace, and a gaze fixed on Jesus.
The goal ahead is to one day be glorified with God in heaven. And until that day, let us continue our race of sanctification, pointing others towards Jesus and bringing His Kingdom here to earth.
Don’t let shame bind you to yesterday. God is inviting you into a new today. A deeper healing. A fuller identity. A future that reflects His redemptive power.
It’s time to press on - not in perfection, but in pursuit.
Reflection Questions:
- What part of your past identity still lingers?
- What does pressing forward in faith mean today?
- What truth do you need to declare over your past?

We often view struggle as a bad thing to be avoided. Who wants pain, right? But what if it's in the struggle that God does some of his best refining work? What if it's in the struggle we are strengthened for the journey ahead? Jesus told us we would have trials - but we can take heart because we never walk the valley's alone. Join me for 30 days as we travel through scripture and strengthen our faith together in the face of struggle.
