The Fathers Heart

Did you know that before you ever took your first breath, you were already in the Father’s heart? You were not an accident. You were not a mistake. You were dreamed of and chosen before the foundation of the world. You were handwoven with care and destined to carry His image. You were birthed in love in the heart of the Father - You Belong.

When Jesus was baptized, the heavens opened, and the Father declared, “You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased.” This moment wasn’t for Jesus; it was for every person who would ever question their worth, identity, or belonging. It was for every person who ever questioned the narrative of Jesus' illegitimacy - it was the Father affirming divine sonship, so that we could receive divine adoption.

This truth is our inheritance. Adoption in Scripture is not second-best; it is a sacred act of divine love - Romans 8:15. The Father doesn’t tolerate us—He delights in us. His voice over Jesus is now His voice over us: “You are My child, whom I love; in you I am well pleased.”

God didn’t wait until you proved yourself holy or useful. He loved you before your beginning. He set His affection on you before you were formed. His desire for you is not reluctant—it is rooted in eternal pleasure and purpose.

Many carry deep wounds from absent or critical earthly fathers, leading to a distorted view of self and God. But Scripture reframes the narrative. A secure attachment to a loving Father provides the foundation for healthy identity, belonging, and emotional healing.

This is the truth that sets us free from the “mistake” lie. You weren’t just created, you were wanted. You weren’t just born, you were called. The Father’s heart isn’t a distant concept; it is your eternal home.

Prayer:
Abba Father, thank You that I am not a mistake. You formed me with purpose and love. I receive the truth that I am chosen, adopted, and delighted in. Heal the parts of me that still question my worth, and anchor me in Your eternal affection. Amen.
