Moving From Stuck to Unstuck by Jennifer Maggioنموونە

Matters of the Heart
Breakthrough comes through the intentional laying down of sin, forgiving others, and sitting in the presence of the Lord. This is the beginning of a free heart.
Another week has passed on our journey together. This one was especially heavy as we focused on unforgiveness and heart-wound healing. Even with all we covered, we've only scratched the surface. Please remember that this week's content could take months—or even years—to fully process and walk out. It's important to revisit these truths over and over, allowing the Lord to continue unlocking areas of your heart and bringing lasting healing as you are willing.
Let's take a moment to review what we've learned. The importance of meditating on God's Word and reviewing all He is teaching us increases our likelihood of implementation. Early in the week, we began by talking about following your heart. The world encourages it, but Scripture warns us not to trust our hearts because they are deceitful and unreliable apart from God. We must take care to ensure our decision-making is rooted in wisdom and truth, not emotionalism.
We then dug into forgiveness and how central it is to our walk with Jesus. Our salvation was made possible because Christ first forgave us, and we're commanded to extend that same forgiveness to others. We explored how unforgiveness binds us, blocks our freedom, and hinders our relationship with God. This very thing – unforgiveness – is why so many in the body of Christ aren't free.
We talked about getting into the quiet place and sitting before the Lord. Ask Him to search your heart for any unforgiveness, hidden sin, unhealed wounds, or anything that's been tucked away. Make a list. Be thorough. Don't rush. If you've never sat quietly before the Lord or only done so for 30 minutes or so, challenge yourself to go deeper. It may feel awkward and uncomfortable at first, but it will produce freedom. Be intentional. Stay until you hear from Him, no matter how long it takes. It is amazing how many of us feel comfortable in front of Netflix for hours but not in front of our Savior in prayer.
Here's the bottom line. If you can't let go of that thing, you are walking in disobedience. Scripture is clear—if we don't forgive others, our Father won't forgive us. And without His forgiveness, we cannot walk in the full freedom Jesus died to give us. Christ went to the Cross, not knowing if you'd ever love Him in return, but still, He did it—so you could live in complete freedom. Not 90% freedom. Not "I'm free but still depressed sometimes." True, lasting freedom.
Use the list of unforgiveness you've made to begin letting it all go. You were given a sample prayer for forgiveness—screenshot it, write it down, and memorize it. Use it as a model whenever the Lord reveals something else that needs to be released. As Psalm 139:23 (NLT) says, "Search me, O God…" What is keeping you in bondage? Unforgiveness? Disobedience? Unrepented sin? Ask Him. He will show you.
Reflect on everything we've discussed this week. It's vital for your walk as a Believer. Where do you think your personal bondage stems from? Has the Lord already shown you something this week? Keep using these tools. Go back and review them whenever needed. These are principles of freedom in God's Kingdom.
Points to Ponder:
- Have you made time to sit quietly and listen for the Lord's voice? Healing and clarity often come in stillness. When was the last time you truly waited on God without distraction, allowing Him to search your heart?
- Do you believe in the fullness of the freedom Jesus died to give me? Jesus didn't die for partial freedom. He died for complete healing and wholeness. Are you living like that's true—or settling for less?
