Healing Family Relationships Through Acceptanceنموونە

You have probably heard many times over the course of your life that "God loves you." It is true! But did you know that God also accepts you? Through the sacrifice of His Son, all of your sins have been covered, paid for, and forgiven. You are accepted, adopted, and wanted. Don't miss the significance of this! God continues to accept you even though you continue to sin and fall short of His glory. God's love for you, and His acceptance of you, does not rise and fall based on your performance.
Take a short pause here. If this doesn't sink into your spirit, the rest of this devotional will not be helpful to you. Consider speaking these words out loud: "My Heavenly Father loves me. My Heavenly Father accepts me in Christ. He will always accept me. He is not shocked when I sin and fall short. He won't be shocked when I sin and fall short tomorrow. His love for me is constant, even when my love for Him is not."
This radical acceptance from God transforms how we view ourselves, and it should transform how we view others. When we truly grasp how completely God accepts us despite our flaws, we can begin to extend that same grace to our family members.
Reflection Question: How might your family relationships change if you grow in learning to accept the faults and shortcomings of your family members?
