Glory of Godنموونە

Don't fall for the counterfeit
What a breathtaking image this verse paints of God! Throughout scripture, God’s glory is often described as light. Revelation tells us that in the new creation the glory of God will be its source of light, with Jesus as the lamp (Revelation 21:23). We see glimpses of this radiant glory in stories like Moses’ encounter with God in Exodus 33.
This chapter is worth reading. Take a moment to picture the scene – the awe, the wonder, the trembling earth, and the overwhelming presence of God. Imagine standing in that moment, witnessing His glory pass by.
But we also know that Satan is the great deceiver, constantly trying to counterfeit God. His imitation, however, is nothing more than a toxic, glowing sludge – appearing enticing but ultimately bringing corruption and death. In contrast, God’s glory gives life, sustaining all things through Jesus who is the exact representation of His being.
Second Thessalonians warns of the ‘son of destruction’, a stark contrast to the Son of God who upholds creation by His powerful Word. The sinfulness of humanity is a direct result of Satan’s influence, yet Jesus offers life, restoration and truth.
Today, the world is mistaking Satan’s counterfeit glow for true light, embracing deception as the way forward. Which light are you following? Whose glory are you captivated by?
