Day 5: I Lose So the Kingdom Can Win

Imagine someone from your church sharing a testimony, but instead of celebrating a promotion or a major contract, they say:

“To keep my job, I had to do something that wasn’t right. I chose to do what pleases God, and as a result, I was fired. Now I’m looking for a new opportunity.”

It doesn’t sound like a triumphant testimony, does it? But this is the kind of testimony we need most today.

We need Christians who follow Jesus from Monday to Monday—not just Sundays inside a church. The Gospel is meant to be lived in the world.

If you’re a disciple of Jesus at work, are you willing to forgo a promotion, accept a lower salary, or even lose your job to uphold your Christian integrity?

If you’re a Christian business owner, would you be willing to lose a deal or even shut down your company to remain faithful to Christ?

Professional decisions affect the whole family, so this is a reflection you must share with them. If you’re ready, say this final prayer with me.

Let’s pray together:

“Jesus, my Lord, help me be bold in my work. I commit to rejecting anything unethical, even if it means losing opportunities. If one day I must give up my career or business for Your Kingdom, I’d rather lose so Your Kingdom can win. You gave Your life for me, and I want to follow Your example. May Your peace sustain me in hard times. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
