Have you ever looked around and thought, "Why me? Surely there is someone better for this?"

Maybe you were asked to lead a group, speak in front of others, or take on a responsibility that felt too big. You see others who seem more talented, more confident, more experienced, and you wonder if God made a mistake in choosing you?

Moses felt the same way. When God called him from the burning bush in Exodus 3, his first response wasn’t excitement, it was doubt. He likely thought of others who seemed more fit for the job. Maybe a stronger leader? A better speaker? Or someone with a past not as troubled as his own?

But God didn’t ask Moses if he was the best choice, He simply said “I will be with you."

Like Moses, we can get caught up in our weaknesses and compare ourselves to others, but God doesn’t call us based on talent alone. He calls us because He has a purpose for us, and He promises to be with us. If we wait until we feel “good enough”, we’ll never take that first step. God isn’t looking for perfection, He’s looking for obedience.

So when you are being called to step up, lead a group, or do something you don’t feel “qualified” for, remember that it is God who has called you. In your weakness there is room for God’s strength. He will equip you, guide you, and walk with you every step of the way.

Prayer:

Lord its easy to feel unworthy when I compare myself to others. Help me to trust that You have called me for a reason. Give me the courage to step forward in faith, knowing that You are with me. Amen.
