To view this video, visit your plan at www.Bible.com] I have a friend named Andy who’s an incredible luthier. He builds some of the finest guitars I’ve ever seen. The inlay work is extravagant, the way they sound, the way they play - everything he makes is just amazing, far beyond my ability. And then I think of the human body. I think of these instruments that we've been given. And though Andy is incredible at what he does, these bodies of ours are far beyond anything my friend could ever dream up. If I am fearfully and wonderfully created, then I’m made for a song much bigger than myself. That puts everything in context. There’s a melody inside of you, an anthem buried in your chest. Your heart keeps time. Your thoughts and your words sing out in a cadence, in a rhythm that is yours alone. When you were a kid, this melody of yours came so free, so easily, so natural, and now maybe it’s harder to find. The years add layers of pain, fear, doubt, shame, and insecurity. I know firsthand. You read the headlines every day, murder, war, divorce, hatred, death, and you wonder how can this little song of yours ever make a difference. Late at night you might ask yourself, “Does my song matter?” I’ve been there. Those questions are real. I’ve spent many nights alone looking up at the moon asking the sky, "Does my time here on the planet have a purpose?" And you breathe and you close your eyes and you listen. And you hear the wind in the trees; you hear your own breathing; you hear your heartbeat, keeping time. And maybe you hear the memory of the contagious unbridled laughter of your daughter. And maybe you hear the voices of those you love. And it’s almost as if the maker of time and space has answered back to you in wordless beauty, “You matter. Your song matters.” You’ve got a song within you that’s bigger than just a couple notes. You’re fearfully and wonderfully made. Be brave and begin to sing the truth one note at a time.
