Devoted: Becoming fully devoted

My Goal today is that we would continue or begin to become fully devoted to Jesus and his mission for us on the Earth!!

What are you devoted to??

I want to remind us of the decision we made to Christ and what it really meant. It wasn't a decision to add Sundays to our routine and wait for heaven, it was an answer to the call of laying down our lives for the sake of the kingdom.

In the Gospels and you see Christ give these calls to follow him.

When we come to christ he expects nothing less than full surrender!! A life laid down just like the life he laid down for you.

YOU ARE NOT YOUR OWN, YOU WERE BOUGHT WITH THE BLOOD OF JESUS!

Theres a cost to following Jesus.

Hate means love less.- there can be nothing that comes before Christ. We must consider the cost.

If the cost outweighs the reward you will always bow to the cost- Bill Johnson

You're going to lose some things but you're going to gain everything you were created for!!

The reward far outweighs the cost!!

All the disciples were killed besides John. following Jesus is an honor!!

We all stray away from our complete devotion to God.
Life gets in the way, struggles come, the enemy comes in and lies to us.
We can relate to Peter who said Jesus I'll die with you!!!!And then denying Christ with our actions.

Plenty of things can steal our full devotion.
Money and the approval of people can get in the way.

Anything can become an idol and replace your devotion!
Your pursuit of money, popularity, and the fear of man.

Let's come back to him this morning!!
Here's some good news.

A couple ways to become fully devote to jesus.
1.Reignite passion!

2.Think about how worthy Jesus is of all of your devotion.
In your heart you KNOW he's worthy of more.

This is my prayer for us.
