I vaig sentir una veu forta que proclamava des del tron: – Aquest és el tabernacle on Déu habitarà amb els homes. Ells seran el seu poble i el seu Déu serà “Déu que és amb ells”. Eixugarà totes les llàgri-mes dels seus ulls, i no existirà més la mort, ni dol, ni crits, ni sofriment. Perquè les coses d’abans han passat. I el qui seu al tron va afirmar: – Jo faig que tot sigui nou. I afegí: – Escriu aquestes paraules, perquè són certes i veritables. Després em va dir: – Ja s’han complert! Jo sóc l’alfa i l’omega, el principi i la fi. Al qui tingui set, jo li concediré que begui a la font de l’aigua de la vida sense pagar res. El qui surti vencedor rebrà tot això en herència. Jo seré el seu Déu, i ell serà fill meu . Però els covards, els descreguts, els corromputs, els assassins, els libidinosos, els qui practiquen la bruixeria, els idòlatres i tots els mentiders tindran la seva part a l’estany de foc atiat amb sofre, que és la segona mort.
