Però si caminem en la llum, tal com ell està en la llum, estem en comunió els uns amb els altres, i la sang de Jesús, el seu Fill, ens purifica de tot pecat. Si afirmàvem que no tenim pecat, ens enganyaríem a nosaltres mateixos, i la veritat no estaria en nosaltres. Però si reconeixem els nostres pecats, ell, que és fidel i just, ens perdonarà els pecats i ens purificarà de tot mal.
