Tingueu entre vosaltres els mateixos sentiments que tingué Crist Jesús: Ell, tot i que era de condició divina, no va considerar la seva igualtat amb Déu com un dret irrenunciable, sinó que ell mateix es va fer no-res i prengué la condició d’esclau. Un cop fet semblant als homes, i externament trobat com humà, s’humilià ell mateix i es féu obedient fins acceptar la mort, però una mort de creu. Per aquest motiu, precisament, Déu l’exalçà eminentment i li donà el Nom que està per damunt de tot altre nom, perquè en el Nom de Jesús tots els éssers del cel, la terra i l’abisme doble-guin els genolls, i tots els llavis proclamin que Jesu-crist és Senyor, a glòria de Déu Pare.
