And at the time of the morning watch, while it was still night, He rose up; and going out, He departed into a desert place, and was praying there.

And saying, “The time has been fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is near at hand; repent, and believe in the gospel.”

And immediately, as He was coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens open, and the Spirit descending upon Him like a dove. And a voice came from heaven, saying, “You are My Son, the Beloved, in Whom I have great delight.”

I have indeed baptized you with water, but He shall baptize you with the Holy Spirit.”

And Jesus said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you to become fishers of men.” And they immediately left their nets and followed Him.

And they were astonished at His doctrine; for He was teaching them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.
