A Spirit-Filled Movement: Ordinary People, Extraordinary Mission

DAY 1 OF 7

Ordinary People, Extraordinary Calling

Jesus didn’t launch His movement with scholars or soldiers. He chose fishermen, tax collectors, and zealots, ordinary people with flaws and doubts. Yet these were the ones He trained, filled with the Spirit, and sent into the world.

The world often overlooks ordinary people, but God delights in using them. Celsus, a critic of early Christianity, mocked believers as “uneducated slaves, women, and children.” Ironically, this was the secret to the movement’s unstoppable growth: everyday people sharing good news with friends, family, and neighbors.

Spirit-filled movements aren’t about charisma or credentials; they’re about surrender and availability. When ordinary people yield to the Spirit, extraordinary things happen.

Reflection Question:
How might God want to use your ordinary life to advance His extraordinary mission?

About this Plan

A Spirit-Filled Movement: Ordinary People, Extraordinary Mission

The single command Jesus gave his followers before igniting his movement was “Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised...” (Acts 1:4). He was telling them to wait and then move with the Spirit. For a movement to accomplish God's mission, it must be guided by the Spirit of God. We want to challenge every leader at Exponential with the big idea of Spirit-filled: Moving With The Spirit.
