Face the Field, Not Just the Office

If you want to grow faster, spend more time market facing.

Most small businesses could double their growth if they dedicated the first hour of the day to clear, specific, outbound profit-producing activities. Yet too often, leaders and teams bury themselves in internal projects, initiatives, and tasks that never touch the customer and never move the mission forward.

Here’s the truth: growth doesn’t come from busywork…it comes from serving people. Every task should fall into one of two buckets:

A) Serving existing customers.

B) Generating new ones.

Anything else is likely just noise.

Jesus modeled this perfectly. He didn’t sit idle or bury Himself in unnecessary tasks…He consistently went to the people. He taught, healed, served, and engaged where the need was. His ministry was always outward-facing, and because of that, it multiplied.

In the same way, if you want to save hours every week and multiply impact, cut the non-value-add tasks. Face the field. Serve the people God has called you to serve.

•How much of my time is spent in activities that actually serve people or grow the mission?

•What non-essential tasks can I cut or delegate so I can focus on what matters most?

Lord, thank You for reminding me that true growth happens when I serve others. Help me to eliminate distractions and focus on what produces fruit…serving existing relationships and reaching new ones. Teach me to lead like Jesus: outward-facing, intentional, and people-centered. In Jesus’ name, amen.
