DAY ONE — God Uses Imperfect People
We see time and time again in the Bible that God’s followers are real and imperfect people. Their stories are recorded not to put them on pedestals, but to teach us lessons about who God is and how He works.
That’s important to remember when we study Scripture. We aren’t meant to model everything these biblical characters do. Instead, we look for what God is teaching us through their victories, their failures, and their dependence on Him.
Moses and the people he led out of Egypt are no exception. Throughout Exodus and Leviticus, we see moments of incredible faith—parting seas, manna from heaven, encounters with God’s presence. But we also see doubt, disobedience, and weakness. And that’s good news for us. Because if God can use people like Moses, Aaron, Miriam, and the wandering Israelites, He can use us, too.
In the next 30 days, we are going to dig into the lessons laid out in Exodus with humor, reverence, and humility—discovering that God uses ordinary, imperfect people to accomplish His extraordinary purposes.
REFLECTION QUESTIONS
- Why do you think God chooses to work through imperfect people instead of perfect ones?
- How does seeing the flaws of biblical characters encourage you in your own walk of faith?
- Where in your life could God be teaching you through weakness rather than strength?
