30 Days of Scriptures for Mental Health Strugglesনমুনা

Day 18: You are a Masterpiece
Ephesians 2:10 is also one of my favorite scriptures on the list to read. When I was going through my mental health struggles and thought I couldn’t do any good because of the diagnosis, I was reminded of God’s truth. This is what the NIV version says, “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
Now this is really good, but the NLT says it a little differently, which I also enjoy. It says, “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”
I love this verse because it confirms that God planned good things for you and me to do in this world, and guess what! Our mental health struggles do not disqualify us from doing so. God planned them long ago, in advance, for us to do so; they will come to pass.
I also love how the NLT version calls us God’s masterpiece. That means that we are like a work of art made by God. Your mental health challenges do not mean you are less valuable or less of a masterpiece. God knew everything you would go through and who you would be when He created you. You are still His masterpiece, and what do His masterpieces/handiworks do? They do good things!
Therefore, I encourage you to walk in this truth knowing who you are in God’s eyes. Your mental health struggles do not define you—God does.
Prayer point:
Heavenly Father, Almighty God, thank you for making me your masterpiece. Thank you for planning good things for me to do long ago, despite my mental health struggles. Lord, please bless me to carry them out to the best of my ability with your strength and wisdom. Help me to do good in this world. Lord, I am grateful. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
