There is More

As you grow in connecting with God through Learning, it can seem like when you pray, you're speaking to God, but when you study, God is speaking to you. Like a college student deepens their understanding by researching a certain topic and writing a paper, you grow spiritually by studying and applying God’s Word.

There are many ways to absorb the Word of God:

• Read the Bible - Joshua 1:8
• Study the Bible - 2 Timothy 2:15
• Meditate on the Bible - Psalm 1:2
• Sing the Bible - Psalm 45:1
• Read the Bible out loud - 1 Timothy 4:13
• Memorize the Bible - 1 Chronicles 16:15
• Pray the Bible - Matthew 4:4
• Preach the Bible - 2 Timothy 4:2

It can feel like simply reading the Word of God is not enough because true depth comes through study and practice, revealing the deeper things of God (1 Corinthians 2:10). It is as if reading the Word of God scratches the surface, and studying is what brings you beneath the surface. Studying can look like researching the historical context of a passage, knowing the period in which it was written and the author, reading commentaries or books, or doing word searches. God gave Daniel and his friends learning and skill in all literature and wisdom. You can also carry this aptitude for learning. Allow the Holy Spirit to teach and guide you as you connect with God through Learning (John 14:26).

Prayer

Holy Spirit, thank you for teaching me. Be the Advocate in my life, teaching and reminding me of the truth. Give me a heart for Your Word, in Jesus' name, amen.

When the Lord reveals something new you didn’t know before through Scripture, write it down, pray into it, and declare it!
