Behold the Lion of God

DAY 4 OF 6

Day 4

Yesterday, we saw a glimpse of the church's role in partaking in Jesus' authority as the Lion of God. Today, we will look at more interesting connections between Jesus as the Lion of God and His pride (His bride). Lions are the only known cat species where the tribe roars together. Roaring helps the tribe coordinate their actions and reunite with the separated members of the pack. Lions will roar from time to time to claim their territory and to show other predators in the area their power and their authority.

When Jesus gave His roar on the cross as the Alpha Lion, He empowered us to join in on His power and authority. Jesus said in Matthew 28 that He has been given all authority, and with that same authority, He now sends us to go on with the work that He started. He didn’t mention His authority to brag about it, but for us to understand that if we are sent by God and if we are doing the work of God, then we have the One who carries all authority to back us up in this commission. As mentioned before in this plan, we are seated with Christ in the heavenlies and co-heirs of God. To be a “co-heir” of God means to receive the same inheritance that Jesus has received. Meaning, when we roar together with Jesus, we are proclaiming to live with Him in victory, freedom, power and authority.

Dear reader, you don’t have to be subject to the sin of the world any longer. Jesus came to take away the sin of the world, meaning HE completely removed it from us. You and I can live our lives from a victorious point, we don’t have to submit to the flesh, the devil or the evil of the world’s system any longer. We are reigning and ruling with Christ. He gave us all authority to trample upon serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy. It is time that the Bride of Christ arises from her sleep and roars with Jesus in victory, declaring the glory of our God and His Kingdom!

1 Corinthians 3:9 reveals another powerful point of roaring together with Christ. Paul says that we are “co-labourers” with Christ. To be a “co-labourer” with Christ means to labour with Jesus in God’s field. When we join the pride (Bride) of the Alpha Lion (Jesus), we don’t labour for the Kingdom alone. Jesus is with us, He will never leave us nor forsake us. He is with us forever. When we labor to seek and lead the lost to Jesus, the Alpha Lion is right there with us. Jesus protects us, He leads us, guides us, and shows us how to live with Him in power and authority.

We are roaring with Jesus.

About this Plan

Behold the Lion of God

Throughout Scripture and especially the New Testament, we find a lot of analogies being used to describe the character and the role of Jesus Christ towards us, as humanity. In this plan, we will look at the similarities between Jesus and a lion, and how and why we need to connect to Him as the Lion of God. Another plan to read together with this one: "Behold the Lamb of God"
