But as many as received Him, to them He gave authority to become the children of God, even to those who believe in His name

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

And the light shines in the darkness, but the darkness does not comprehend it.

And the Word became flesh, and tabernacled among us (and we ourselves beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten with the Father), full of grace and truth.

All things came into being through Him, and not even one thing that was created came into being without Him. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.

On the next day, John sees Jesus coming to him, and he says, “Behold the Lamb of God, Who takes away the sin of the world.

He was in the world, and the world came into being through Him, but the world did not know Him. He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him

The true light was that which enlightens everyone who comes into the world.

For the law was given through Moses, and the grace and the truth came through Jesus Christ.
