Physical Health Do you not know that your bodies aretemplesoftheHolySpirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies. —1 Corinthians 6:9–10 (NIV) Our physical health is a very important aspect of our lives—and God desires to see us healthy! (See Exodus 15:26.) He also desires to give us the energy we need to be healthy. God is so good. He knows our needs, including how to help us walk in physical wellness. He longs for us to come to Him and to trust Him to fulfill those needs, so we can be equipped to do what He has called us to do. As we begin to look at this area of life, let me encourage you that wherever you are right now, you are loved by God! Though the world often places judgments on physical wellness—harshly criticizing those who look a certain way or are at a certain weight—this is not the way of God. In Him, there is no judgment about how you look. He simply wants us to be well (3 John 1:2) so that we can enjoy the good things He has for us, and so that we can fulfill our God-given purpose in Him. In addition, I encourage you to be kind to yourself and to others who may be facing some kind of physical illness right now. Yes, God wants us well—but He does not judge or condemn us when we are sick. Rather, He has made provision for our healing through Jesus Christ (1 Peter 2:24). Health and well-being are areas we can progressively walk in and grow in. Decide today that you will take one step toward physical health. Three godly affirmations for today: I AM making choices to be healthy. I AM capable. I AM strong.
