# Day 21 - Valley of Elah A shepherd boy David, with no appearance of strength or stature, went to fight a giant named Goliath when the rest of Israel, including King Saul, were too afraid. This battle happened in a place called the Valley of Elah. Through the power of God, David defeated Goliath. God used this young man David, who had a heart after Him, to lead the nation of Israel. Though David made mistakes, it was his continual repentance that made him a man after God’s own heart. And because of this, it was prophesied that God would send a savior through the lineage of David. David’s heart of repentance is what made him a man after God’s own heart; where are areas of your life that you need to repent? Reflect on the life of David; in what ways is Jesus a better king than David?
