Faithful To His Word Your Hope Secured Ephesians 1:17-19 says, “The God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe." What is the hope to which you’ve been called? What is the thing set before you that keeps you moving forward through tests and trials? Is it the promise of future earnings? Is it the dreams you’ve set for yourself? Most of us see hope as something we wish for. The strength of that hope lies within the strength of our desires. However, Biblical hope is much different and has a certain outcome. Biblical hope is described as the confident expectation of what God has promised. It paints a picture of someone so sure of what God has said, that they stretch out their hands to receive it before it arrives. Biblical hope is like packing your bags and waiting by the front door, two weeks before your trip begins. Its strength is in God’s faithfulness alone. As believers, we can rest assured that God is always faithful to His Word. He told Jeremiah that He “watches over His word to perform it.” (Jeremiah 1:12) In Psalm 138:2, God says that He “magnifies His word above His name.” This means that His name is good because His Word is good. Seeking earthly solutions for earthly problems will always fail, but our hope is always secure when we declare the Word of God in the midst of our trial. John 1:1-5 explains Jesus Himself as the “Word” of God. It says, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not anything made that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” When we call on the name Jesus and declare the Word of God in any situation, the darkness around us cannot overcome the light within us. God is faithful to us as a result of His faithfulness to His Word. According to His word, He has a plan for our lives. His plan is not for evil or harm. His plan is to give us a future and hope. (Jeremiah 29:11). Proverbs 23:18 says, “Surely there is a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off.” Place your hope in Jesus, declaring the Biblical Word of God over your life, and watch God’s faithfulness in action. PRAYER Father, let Your kingdom come and Your will be done in my life. Give me a conviction for Your Word and help me to elevate it over my situation. Your Word is established both in heaven and on earth. Thank You for Your faithfulness. Not once have I seen an abandoned believer. I know You are for me. I will stand on the Word of God, declaring it in Jesus’ name, Amen.
