## All Your Steps Lead to the Next One God has been growing the faith of Moses step by step for this very moment. Often, we look to the horizon and declare, “I could never do that.” One day God may want you to do “that,” but God wants you to do “this” first. Take the first step today and you’ll be ready for the next necessary step tomorrow. When asked about how he managed to care for such an active family, a father of four said, “You don’t have them all at once. It comes slowly, and you transition with each one.” Similarly, Moses didn’t go from being a shepherd to splitting the sea in a single day. Even Moses had to grow in faith. * He saw a bush that wouldn’t burn up * He heard God’s call (he learned that arguing with God doesn’t work) * With Aaron, he walked into Pharaoh’s court with a demand * He witnessed God’s power through the plagues Finally, having accomplished his mission, he reaches the water’s edge in a deadly predicament. After all of the faith-building of the previous miracles, after all the prayers, after discovering the God of his call, he walks through the sea on dry land! As the proverb states, “The man who says it can’t be done should not interrupt the man who is doing it.” The path of God’s will for your life is the same. Yesterday prepared you for today. So, don’t stay stalled at yesterday’s faith; take the next step. Plateaus are not God’s will for anyone. Get out of the mud and step faithfully one more time. What is your next step? In the Exodus, the next step was literally onto the sea bottom. It is unbelievable that Pharaoh pursued Israel. But, how many times have we continued to pursue our plans when God has been powerfully and consistently directing us elsewhere? Our quests result in confusion. While God’s bushes never burn up, ours ultimately do. Only His will lasts for the long term. Even if your own chariot takes you 50 years through the sea, its wheels will ultimately fail. The balance of gear, skill, and education is slanted completely in favor of the pursuing Egyptian army, but life, faith and God’s will belong to His people. Therefore, the victory is God’s. Moses and his followers stood on the opposite shore as their pursuers died in the sea. God’s will always wins.
