PRAY // Have you ever had a teacher you felt you could out-teach? How about a coach or instructor you knew for sure you could out-coach or out-instruct? When we are supposed to follow those we don’t think are doing a good job leading us, we tend to push back against their authority over us, using it as an excuse not to follow their direction. However, the Bible tells us those in charge don’t always get there because they have earned the right to do so by our standards. In fact, God urges us to submit because HE is ultimately the One who has put authorities in place. Is there someone you have a hard time submitting to as an authority figure? Today, pray that God will give you what you need to follow their lead. And be encouraged that by following their lead, you’re ultimately following Him.
