Reading the Bible can feel intimidating sometimes. But one simple way of studying Scripture is called S.O.A.P. It stands for "Scripture," "Observation," "Application," and "Prayer." We'll show you how—it's easy!
S: Scripture
If you haven't already, read today's passage of Scripture. Then summarize it in your own words.
O: Observation
Read Galatians 3:23–29 again.
- What does it tell us about the family of God?
- What does it reveal about how God sees people from different backgrounds?
- What does that show us about how we should treat others?
A: Application
Who's someone you struggle to understand or connect with? What do you think makes it difficult?
How does seeing everyone as one in Christ change your view of those you don't get along with or struggle to understand?
What do you think could change if you embraced God's love for all humanity—including those in your family—this week?
P: Prayer
Spend some time in prayer talking to God about ways you feel disconnected, at odds with, or indifferent toward other people. Take time to say you're sorry for any bias you see in yourself. Ask for help pursuing unity with others. Then say thank you for God's love for all of humanity.
