Daily Bible Reading— May 2025, God's Strengthening Word: Trusting in God’s Promises预览

Introduction
1 Samuel 26:1–25: David encounters Saul and has another opportunity to kill him but once again refuses. The reading concludes with Saul once again acknowledging that David has spared his life.
Today’s Key Verse: 1 Samuel 26:11a
[David said:] “The LORD forbid that I should try to harm the one whom the LORD has made king!”
Reflect
In yesterday’s reading, David removed a piece of Saul’s robe (1 Samuel 24:4). What does he remove this time (verse 12)? What does David say to Saul (verses 17–20)? What does Saul say to David (verse 21)? What are your thoughts about David’s motive in not harming Saul and what he says in verse 23?
Pray
Holy and righteous God, you are always faithful and I place my trust in you. I worship and praise you and seek to serve you in accord with your will. In your holy name, I pray. Amen.
Tomorrow’s Reading
2 Samuel 5:1–25: David becomes king of Israel and Judah.
