Start the Party - High School

Some of the most amazing things in the world take a long time to happen. When you search online, you find it can take one billion years for a diamond to be formed and 50-75 for a saguaro cactus to grow its first “arms.” I can imagine several thousand years into the diamond-forming process or a few decades into a cactus’ life; it looked like nothing was happening. And isn’t that true when you are in the middle of many circumstances in life? But as Paul writes in his letter to the Galatians, there is a right time for things, a time for a harvest that will come, no matter how long we must wait. Often on the other side of challenges and struggles, we gain some of the most significant rewards: bravery, wisdom, hope, and resilience. And that’s a harvest worth waiting for.

Write down today’s Scripture verse on a sticky note. Underneath that, list any circumstances you’re facing that make doing what’s “good” really exhausting. As you think about those things, re-read today’s verse out loud to yourself and ask yourself what might be on the other side if you keep moving forward!
