Have you ever been left out in a group of people? Maybe your jokes were dismissed, or you were ignored from an invitation, leaving you alone. This is only one of the many ways a person could be treated unjustly.
With this experience in mind, think of when Jesus was crucified. People praised his name one day and then wanted him dead a few days later. It would be reasonable for Jesus to be mad at them and want the absolute worst for them, right? After all, Jesus did nothing wrong. Because Jesus' idea of justice differs from ours, he did not want the worst for them. He asked God to forgive them so that they would experience a restored life. When it comes to justice, God doesn't provide a quick band-aid solution — a response to justice with lasting results takes time and a call to true repentance.
