Our human instinct is to try and treat people the way they are treating us. If someone is rude or mean to us, we want to be mean back to them, but Jesus calls us to look past how we’re being treated and work to treat people how we would want them to treat us. This can be difficult, but you can with God’s help. It may take some time to change how people treat you but start by focusing on how you’re treating them and watching how God begins to change their hearts and behavior.

Ask them the question and have them read the confession out loud. If they are old enough, they can read it, but they can help them understand the verse and how it applies to their lives.
