If your friend asked you to come over to help with their homework, would you? What if they lived on the other side of town? What if they lived in a different state, or even country? How far would you go to help someone? Something to think about while you are reading today’s passage: Alexander left Evercity to be part of the Scarlet Man’s plans, and in the Bible Abram leaves his family home to travel to where God will fulfill his promise. How might that feel? Think about how much further Jesus was willing to go to obey God’s call.
